Chapter 2.

The next week went by as normal as ever for _______. Despite the strange encounters she had on the weekend, _______ decided to believe it was just some strange dream. Even so, she became cautious and always made sure to make it home while it was still light outside. Today was Friday again, and ______ was heading home for a nice evening to herself.

"Ahh, feel that wind in your hair," _______ sighed as she stopped walking for a minute and let nature fill her. For some reason, ______ felt an unnatural pull towards nature, but she never questioned it. _______'s (h/c) strands gently brushed her neck, reminding her that the sun was due to set soon. ________ began to walk again.

Suddenly, she got a cold feeling that someone was following her. ______ managed a peak over her shoulder and saw someone was indeed following her. She picked up her pace and walked faster, but the follower matched and was right behind her. So she ran, fear filling her (e/c) eyes.

What has been happening with all of these things going on!?

She stumbled, causing her to stop and try to get back on balance, but that mistake proved to be fatal. The follower grabbed ______'s shoulder and forced her to turn. She came face to face with yet another-

"Demon!" she shrieked. It grinned wickedly and nashed its sharp teeth.

"Why, thank you." It mocked, its forked tongue flicking in and out of its mouth. ______ struggled to get out of its grip, but this one was strong.

Where is that one guy, that was there last time? I know he wasn't there to save me but...

_______ cried out in pain as the demon lifted her up and tossed her back down onto the ground. It laughed and raised a claw, ready to swipe off her head, when a voice pierced the air.

"So you're just going to let him kill you?" ______ opened her eyes and saw the man. His raven black hair russled slightly by the wind and his crimson eyes gleamed.

"I can't fight back, it's a demon!" She wailed. The man scoffed and smirked.

"You are close with nature, yes?" ______ nodded her head, confused.

Why would he be wondering that at a time like this?

"Picture something of nature, air heat, water, anything. Then imagine it as a weapon." _______ thought it was silly, but desperate times call for desperate measures. ______ closed her eyes and pictured a fire. Then she morphed it into a sword. Heat flooded her right arm and hand and when she opened her eyes, the fire sword was in her hand.

"W-what s this!?" She cried out, almost dropping the thing. The demon was equally surprised and began to back away.

"Now, use it." ______ stared at the man, her mouth falling open.

I have never used a sword before, let alone kill someone!

She didn't care though, and rose up to her shaking feet. She closed her eyes and ran at the demon, swinging the sword around wildly. Smack! ______ felt the sword connect and heard the agonizing cries of the demon. When she opened her eyes, it was gone. The man walked over to her as the sword disappeared into thin air.

"W-who are you?" She questioned, starting to back up.

"I am Hiei. It's about time you realized what you were." He scoffed.

What I Am?

"Umm, what?" _______ asked, confusion clouding her eyes. This man, Hiei, sighed and began to walk off. When he realized ______ wasn't following him, he stopped and turned around.

"Are you coming or what?" He said, then began to walk again. _______ knew it was wrong to follow him, but she wanted to know what he was talking about, so she reluctantly trailed after him.
